Our Employment Department is staffed by Fariha Daud, REACT DC's Employment Director, and our Career Pathways Director, Hasib Dellawar.

Fariha is a multilingual professional and a graduate of George Mason University who managed administrative affairs at Northern Virginia Community College for over a decade. She is fluent in Farsi, Dari, Uzbek, and Turkmen and proficient in Russian and Turkish, and has worked as an interpreter and case manager in the past. Fariha leverages her experiences to mentor young refugees and guide them in navigating the American education system, from K-12 to college. She enjoys exploring new places through drives, watching movies, and spending quality time with her family. Fariha's passion for helping others and making her community a better place drives her.

Hasib Dellawar is a highly educated professional with a diverse background. He earned his Master's degree in Criminal Law and Criminology from Avicenna University in Kabul in 2019 and his Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Pune in India in 2011. With over ten years of experience, Hasib has held various roles such as Manager, Community Mobilizer, Cultural Advisor, Interpreter, Translator, Lecturer at a University, and Teacher in Afghan and American companies. He is fluent in Dari/Farsi, Pashto, Urdu/Hindi, and English. In his free time, Hasib enjoys traveling to new places and experiencing new cultures. He is also an avid chess and soccer player. Hasib was born and raised in the northern Baghlan province of Afghanistan, where he attended school.

2022 Job Fair Report
REACT DC organized four successful job fairs in 2022 that drew a diverse group of talented individuals, including Afghans, parolees, SIV holders, Ukrainians, and others. We received 812 client responses, with positive feedback about the job fairs' encouraging atmosphere, diverse industries, and helpfulness. We attribute follow-on hires to the fair, providing clients with resume building, interview experience, and networking opportunities. Our Employment Department continues to support these clients with guidance, training, and resources to help achieve their career goals.
